You need to read a book to realize that? Why do you think the rest of the world usually laughs about the Banana Republic USA when it comes to elections?... especially the last two...

It's a wonderful country and I know wonderful people in it... but they don't seem to be the norm... ignorance is bliss, it it seems and all around us...

OTOH if you only have the choice between cholera and cancer, when it comes to voting, it is fairly easy to loose interest...

But, the average American is more interested what's on TV and where to find the next frivolous lawsuit, it seems, than to change ANYTHING, let alone the climatic affairs of the world...

JonyRR I am sure this report flies in the face of the "extreme" author you link above, but being a scientist by nature, I prefer to look at the data and make my own conclusion. Give it a read, lets hope things aren't as bleak as Ruppert theorizes..

On that note, Greenpeace says we must phase out all fossil fuels way before we run out:

Greenpeace's say is likely close to reality of that situation. Anyhow, I'm not convinced yet that the oil is close to peaking. There's just too many conflicting reports. It's possible that it is, but then again, all this oil price skyrocketing can be just a ruse to squeeze more money out of those that buy oil, namely the people. Not quite the global conspiracy, more like some source increases the price and the others just ride the wave, from the refinery's profit to the government's taxes. It's easy to speculate when there's no hard evidence.

Havent we had this tread already just a few weeks ago.

The world aint ending today, nor tomorrow, chill, go for a ride, and enjoy the cheap (as compared to tomorrows) gasprices.

Just look at it this way... once the Saudis run out of Oil, we will make all out money back from them, selling them Water! It's all good...
