HP2S factory tankbag - help from other side of the pond

My local dealer along with several others can't seem to get the 'set of fittings' for the BMW factory tankbag. What's weird though is that the tank bag is available, but supposedly without the fittings, there's no way to secure it to the bike. Can somone across the pond find out if the part is available in Europe? Many thanks appreciated!

Wallet is empty, except for license, registration and proof of insurance.

This is a cheap fix...

And the original colour will even match the frame and wheels!

Blu Tack is a versatile, reusable putty-like pressure-sensitive adhesive. The original version of the product was blue, but many colours are now available. It is based on a formulation consisting of synthetic rubber, polymers, oil, and inorganic fillers.

Common uses are to:

Hold up posters

Hold screws to screw drivers, model parts in position for painting or gluing

Attach wallet sized bags to underpowered / over priced man-jewelery

You're not supposed to have a tankbag on an HP2S. Sheesh!

Steve, I know, but where else am I supposed to carry Blu Tack - the original re-useable self adhesive???

With all the time you'll save getting there, you can buy it locally.

The option to get my deposit back is still valid, but...well this package was delivered to my door July 28th. Inside was a nice Motorrad backpack and a letter from the head of BMW Motorrad Australia acknowledging my order and thanking me for my patience. Hell, it only took 10 months for them to get to this point. I'm such a pushover.

Sorry as it sounds, whether Oz is the last in the world to get them or not it seems that this is the only way to get one here. If I were a bigger risk taker I think I could have saved time and money to buy one of those that were listed on fleabay in Seppo-land and ship it over.

That would be about the size of it. Maybe if I spit the 'pacifier' out really hard do you think I'd get something better?

Talking Tank-bag...

Just thought I'd put my input on the matter in the forum as well.
I have that tank bag, and it's not really a bag to put your sleeping bag in... However I find it big enough to bring my wallet, house keys, cell-phone and so on. It's great especially due to my race-suit having pockets that can hold nothing more than a half packet of "Mentos".
The HP2S-Tank bag comes with two Velcro-fittings and four screws. You just replace the four screws on the top of the HP2S's tank and fit the Velcro there.
Simple and great. And the great part is that the HP2 will still do wheelies with the bag on!!! :-P
