BMW noob saying hi
Hi all, just got a new (to me) 2003 R1100S and have been browsing through this board. Thought I'd introduce myself and say hi. So far I LOVE this bike and plan on keeping it for a while. The previous owner only put 20,000Km on it and it's in great shape.
Great technical advice found here, you all really know your stuff! ![]() |

Looks just like my old R11S. Love that color combo. Welcome aboard.

You got the Oil Head color scheme there I hear most often sighted as "...ever since I saw that bike...". ![]()

ZS, are you sure it's not a 2004? Looks like a twin spark whcih AFAIK is only 2004 and 2005 in North America. Or is this a bike imported from another market?

Thanks for all the compliments. I wish I could say I had enough taste to pick it from the showroom floor originally, I just lucked out with a used one.
Peterz - it's definitely an 03 according to the VIN. Interesting about the dual spark, I'll have to ask the dealer about that. As far as I know it was a local bike, sold new at the dealer here in Victoria (canada). |

The US got color schemes a year behind Europe, so I wouldn't be surprised if non-US markets got the dual spark in '03.
