Hey Mr. Yo-Yo.
You may be a YoYo, but your design skills and the Cpn's mill are the $chisa. Just got the clamps and they're so moto-porn I hate to actually install them...they should be in an industrial design museum somewhere. I remember the first tahoe ride when Jeff said 'come over here, Jony and take a look at THIS!'. ya-mon, the real thing is at LEAST as cool as the plastic prototype was. Way To Go Scott! |
Hey Jony, good to hear you got your V2 clamps. Thanks for the good words about them. Yeah they came out pretty good and work even better. Get yer arse out in the garage and get them suckers mounted up.
Hard to believe, but I actually have one more set of V2 clamps left to send out, so you weren't the last one to get them installed...it just seems that way. Let us all know how you like them when you get a chance to get out and boogey with them. |
Scotty,
isn't it amaizing how this developed from Lake Tahoe triple Crown when you showed us your prototypes,(which BTW were very cool), till now. Good one my friend. Glad to see you on the last ride you lug nut.:) jeff |
R12S here, newish to forum, is it too late for me to get some parts like these. I know I'd want a key, probably want a triple clamp and fork clamp set also. Thanks, and how much and to where?
|
Scott, any news? If they are to be delivered before the holidays like Mike said, you'd need to start shipping. :)
|
No news yet TM. I'm holding the captain to his Holiday delivery which I would place sometime around Dec 15 or so. Domestic deliveries take about 2-3 days and international is about 6-8 days.
I know this sucks with Xmas coming at the same time and having to spend a bunch of money on everyone else around you too. If anyone needs to delay the final payment a few weeks or even bail out entirely, just let me know. |
|
Scott, I was wondering if you have a set in black still available.
Thanks MunK |

MunK, I have had one cancellation on the order list that will be available. You can reserve it for yourself if you want. Send me a PM (private message) with your email address and I can get you set up.

Triple Clamp Upate 12-11-08
I just received word from Mike that he expects to ship the completed parts to me this coming Monday, 12-15. I should get the parts by the end of next week and will begin packing up the parts for shipping out to you guys as soon as I get them. If any of you are planning to have me do the ball joint/ignition swap for you, then you can start planning to tear down your stock clamps and send them to me any day after 12-20. I will get your new clamps set up and send everything back to you in the same day I get them usually. As long as there are no more unforseen holdups, there is still a possibility that I can get clamps to overseas buyers by Christmas, but more likely a couple days later. Most domestic orders can probably make it by the big day if everything goes as it is right now. Start planning your installations. I can email triple clamp removal and installation instruction sets to anyone that needs them now. Otherwise, I will send a copy along with the ball joint/ignition swap instructions out with the clamps when they ship. I would like to see final payment come in by the time I actually get parts in my hand, which should be within 1-1/2 weeks from now. If anyone needs to contact me you can email me or PM and I will get back to you right away. Be sure to include your email address and any shipping address if there has been a change. I have shipping addresses provided by all buyers except Vitalc and MunK. Merry Christmas :D |
...you are a brave man Motoyoyo!
|
Good news Scott. I really hope you can manage to get my set to me before Xmas, as that means I will have time off from work which means time to put these babies on. It's been a long wait, but I am sure it will prove to have been well worth it.
On the upside, the Euro seems to be recovering a bit. :D |
Scott, does this mean you now have time to start working on the R12S top clamp?
|
scott , you are indeed the man!!!
ah well , not gonna get to fit them this year then , we are on shutdown from the 21st , so very little chance of getting them by then .. ile pm u scott as im gonna need the delivery address changed to my home addy Oll ps hi al , long time lurker :D :D |
Oll, no problem. I got your email and you are good to go. Yours will be the first to ship out as you were the first on the order list and the first to pay in full. Thanks! You are really going to have to share some of your R1100S mods with us after you are done. Sounds awesome. :)
shreddr, I have not made arrangements yet with tm1100s to tear down his forks for measurements. Maybe after the holiday rush we can get it done. Actually, maybe I should wait until you do your engine mods to see if you are still interested in the clamps. :) Just kidding...a little. I should get to it in early January sometime. |
Alright guys, I need to get a consensus about my little problem. The company that I get the anodizing done at is just as backed up as we are with end of the year rush.
They can do the clamps right before they go on vacation, and I mean right before, the 22nd. Which leaves me shipping out right before the rush of the Christmas. Which leaves me a little worried about crushed and lost packages. OR have the parts anodized when they come back on Mon. the 5th. and ship with little worry. I know this is not what anybody wanted (me included) but majority rules. Do we rush it on through or wait a week? Thanks for being patience. |
First off, I want to apologize to everyone for yet another delay. It was my understanding that we were going to have the parts anodized today and have parts by the end of the week. I'm especially sorry to some of you that have already removed your stock clamps and are in the process of shipping them to me right now. Let's see if we can understand this situation a little better.
Mike, I guess you posted this before you got my last email about this so here are a few questions that I asked you in that email. Does this mean that the machining and polishing of all the parts is completely done? These guys deserve the absolute best quality you can give them, so if there is any prefinish details on any of the parts that can be done during this delay then I expect you will take care of that. As far as the question you are asking of the group, you need to clear up one point. Are the parts going to be shipped to me directly from the anodizing shop? If so, I see that as the only real concern in trying to rush through them in one day. The anodizing process itself should not be a problem, but the careful packaging and shipping of the parts right before Christmas is definitely an issue. The packaging of the parts being shipped to me in the past has been somewhat marginal and I surely do not want to pay $350-400 in expedited shipping charges after all this time. Tell us more about how the parts are going to be shipped once they have been through the finisher. |

We are finishing up a bit or two and running the tumbler longer to smooth out the finishes better. The extra time will be used to give a super finish. The anodizing process itself should not be a problem, but the careful packaging and shipping of the parts right before Christmas is definitely an issue. The parts in the past have been shipped with electrons still dripping off of them in the same day. I will admit that I do get alittle greedy with packing. But either way I'm going to pack smaller boxes, because there are to many parts this go around. I'm just concerned about shipping nice stuff around the Holiday. We are home to Fedex and a large UPS center, and friends do inform me on how they handle things. Even with insurance we will have to make more to replace what was lost or damaged. |
