R1100S V3 Edition Triple Clamps + Extras
I have cleared the latest Version 3 triple calmp design with Mike and have some new bits to offer as well. I was able to play around with some new design styles for the top clamp that maintain all the same mounting points, strength and weight as the previous V2 and V1 top clamps while sporting an all new look to keep things interesting. I won't bore you with all the previous performance claims since everything will be the same great improvement as before. These clamps just plain transform this bike into an all new stability experience that you will have to try to believe. You can check out the previous thread on the version 2 clamps for personal comments about performance and a bit of the history on these clamp sets, R1100S Custom Triple Clamps - 2nd Edition
I have had to adjust my pricing just slightly with a $25 USD increase per triple clamp set over the last run of parts to cover extra expenses that I did not adequately account for previously. The V3 pricing will be as follows: Third Edition Options and Pricing Clamp sets will only be available with the V3 style top clamp along with a lower clamp. All parts are to be machined from billet 6061-T6 grade aluminum. There will be three finishes available for each set of clamps: 1. Raw machined aluminum 2. Clear Anodize (silver) 3. Black anodize All clamp sets will come complete with new stainless hardware, new R1200S roundel and a set of installation instructions. New Pricing Is $575 / set This price will include Free ball joint and ignition swap if you send me your stock clamps at your expense. Also included is Free Shipping of all parts within the Continental US which includes up to $700 insurance. All other will pay actual shipping costs minus a $17 USD shipping credit applied to this cost. $75 flat rate for complete installation for anyone that can deliver their bike to me (So Cal area). PayPal payment fees included if applicable. Pre Payment Required All orders must be pre paid in order to start machining of the parts. There are minimum order quantities required before machining will begin as well. Payment Types Accepted PayPal or Personal Check (allow 2 weeks for checks to clear) Version 3 Top Triple Clamp http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...100S-7g8-4.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...100S-7g8-1.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...100S-7g8-2.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...100S-7g8-3.jpg Version 3 in Black http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...S-7g8-blk5.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...S-7g8-blk4.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...S-7g8-blk6.jpg Lower Clamp Assembly (telelever not included, doh) The lower clamp incorproates the stock fender mount position as well as the steering damper mounts. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...pLower3j-1.jpg Lower Clamp Assembly - Black http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...wer3j-blk1.jpg Version 3 Triple Clamp Set Order List *added * As of 9-20-08 I am taking deposits of $285 USD on all triple clamp orders. The balance, including any additional shipping charges for non Continetal US, will be due on completion of the parts and proir to the parts being shipped to you. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...ampOrders1.jpg In the following post I will show the extra bits I have designed to go along with the new clamps. |
Extra Bits
Ok, now for the fun bits that are new this time around. I have designed a spare key holder that is intended to be fun to look at as well as hold in your hand. There is no key ring hole since I don't even want to think of a rabbits foot or other key fob whipping all over the triple clamps. This is a feel good piece to keep in your pocket and reach in and rub on once in a while when you want that special warm all over feeling. :) This key holder will fit the standard spare key that comes with the R1100S as well as many other BMW's as far back as the older K-bikes and such. I'm not sure of all the models but can find out if someone is interested in a key holder for a particular model bike.
Spare Key Holder Pricing If I can get a minimum order of 25 spare key holders together the price will be $40 USD each plus shipping. This includes a press in stainless steel capture pin to hold the key in place that you will be able to assemble yourself. These will be available in raw unfinished aluminum, clear anodize or black anodize 6061-T6 aluminum billet. A Titanium version may be available at $85 USD plus shipping if I can get the captain to sneak some in the run. Mike says titanium is a lot more expensive and more difficult to machine. I will have to verify if I can have him run a few of them for this price along with the other aluminum ones. Here's some computer models in raw aluminum and black. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...der7a-raw4.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...der7a-raw2.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...der7a-raw1.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...der7a-raw3.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...der7a-blk2.jpg Key Holder Orders *added* As of 9-20-08 I am taking deposits of $20 USD for key holders in aluminum and $45 USD for titanium. The balance, including any additional shipping charges, will be due on completion of the parts and proir to the parts being shipped to you. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...erOrders1b.jpg And, finally I designed some simple billet fork caps to replace the stock plastic ones on top of eack fork leg. These will be sold as a set of two fork caps per order for $40 USD / set plus shipping. They will be machined from 6061-T6 aluminum billet in the usual three finish options. I need to have a minimum of 20 sets of these sold to get this price, so if less are wanted the price may go up just a bit. A titanium version may be available for $100 USD / set plus shipping. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...cap7-raw-1.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...cap7-blk-1.jpg Fork Cap Orders Deposit of $20 USD required for aluminum, $50 USD for titanium http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...CapOrders1.jpg |

ummm....Scott aren't you forgetting something? There seems to be a clamp missing from the lineup.....
|
One for HP2S owners???
:) |
Thanks Sergio :)
Shreddr I'm making a special C-Clamp with ear buds just for you. :D Actually I will be doing the R1200S clamp seperately after I get dimensions from tm1100s donor bike. It won't be for at least another 4-5 weeks. Be patient. |

Actually, the top triple clamp on the HP2S is pretty much on par with these that Scott has made... err, correction, scratch that, reverse polarity. The clamps on the HP2S SHOULD LOOK like the ones that Scott's made. They probably have the same structural integrity, ridgiity, etc, but Scott's actuall look nicer. The finish on the HP2S's clamps is nice, but not to the level of these.
Shredder, I think Scott still needs an R12S guinea pig for the 12S clamps. |
Scott, count me in. Black anodized please. Let met know when and where you want me to paypal you the balance.

Scott,
I am in for a set of V3 clamps with clear anodize. I will paypal you the balance when I get back from a trip later this week. Please PM me let me know where to send the paypal balance to. Thanks, Brandon |
Scott,
Just two quick questions. Do these clamps have provisions for mounting the bars under the top clamps ie. two tapped holes under the top clamp? Also does the lower clamp have the mounting holes to mount the steering damper bracket? Thanks again, Brandon |
*****, good point Brandon, I have a steering damper too. Need to know. :) Don't want to lose my pretty shiney HyperPro steering damper.
But the definitely do have the the bolt holes under the top triple; I asked that question in the old thread. |
BrandonS,
Yes the top clamp has the threaded bolt holes for the low mount bars in the stock position. Yes the lower clamp has the threaded bolt holes for the steering damper in the stock position. And, yes I will put you down for a set in clear anodize. Thanks. :) throttlemeister...yay, you finally get a set :) Thanks. As the list gets close to at least ten orders everyone that is on the list should start sending in their payment. Propably around two weeks from now will be good. |
Hey Scott!
Boeing is hiring machinists *grin*. Seriously, all you other folks should be thankful this is going forward. I believe Mr. Motoyoyo only breaks even on these. A true labor of love. 'profit?'.......'rock and roll isn't about the money....although SOME money would be nice'. Scott, thanks for all the hard work you put into these. I knew they were a work of art when I saw the plastic prototype at the first Tahoe Triple Crown.... |

I'm definately in for a set, just trying to decide between clear or black anodized. Can I send in my barbacks to get black anodized? Anyone have pics of this setup with barbacks?

hehe, yeah tm. I sent you a pm so we can get the shipping figured out.
rount5, what color is your bike? You won't be disappointed if you go with the clear. They look very sharp. Check out the link to the 2nd edition clamps for some actual pics of the different finishes. I will see if I can put together a computer model with my best guess at the barback dimensions and post it up for you. Jony, ya definitely a labor of love only. I wish real work was this much fun though :) |
