http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1223375225.jpg Wet weight for "replica" street version is quoted as 205kg wet...no 190kg's. The RSV4 is quoted as 179kg dry with 180hp... |
Substract 15kg for fuel and 4 for oil and some for coolant and you end up with something in the order of 180-185kg dry weight.

Says? I never saw any claims on 190kg wet or dry, race trim or road setup. I think it is a design goal, and they are in the ballpark.
But my main comment was re the RSV4. 179kg sounds light weight compared to 205, but the point is the numbers should about the same if you take both dry. |
probably were shooting for...quote from Peter Müller "Das Gewicht des Motorrades wird vollgetankt unter 205 kg liegen"...altough 190 lies under 205kg's ;)

Erm gentlemen
Road use > Hard to see the point...as it has defined by the holly Jap quad (and Italy and Austria). Some decent design anyone? No...take that copy-paste stuff instead. Race > see above. |
You want design Peter? what about this ;)

...I think he was asking for "functional" design... not useless fictional design...
|
That Honda is pure aesthetical sex on wheels...a moving sculpture. Finally an exciting Honda.
Who cares it can't ride ;) For sure there are design elements in it we will see in future Honda's |

as much as I like the Red, White, & Blue combos on other Beemers, this one just isn't doing it for me.

Cool
Quote The motorcycle weighs less than 205 kg fully fuelled... With its compact cylinder head the engine has a very slim design. The valves are operated by very small, compact and light cam followers whose dimensions are at Formula One level. This type of construction ensures very high engine speeds and permits the greatest degree of freedom in designing the engine with regard to torque and power. Thanks to specially developed electronic components on the S 1000 RR, BMW Motorrad is once again the trailblazer in this area. A dynamic traction control will be available for the BMW supersports bike, the functional principle of which is taken directly from motorsports. In addition a completely new Sport ABS will be available for the production model. The S 1000 RR will be thrilling to ride both on the road and on the racetrack, handling output delivery and power-to-weight at the highest level. The S 1000 RR will be available for customer order in Europe from European spring 2009. Availability in Australia is yet to be determined. I like the colour combo, it'll be easy to spot on the track and the colours, maybe synonymous with BMW racing?? at least Boxer cup/power cup synonymousonomoly kinda sorta something a rather ;) |
