Found this somewhat short and not complete explanation of the HP2S engine, thought you might be interested!

This dispels some of the commonality theory with the R12S engine. We need the next segment Jonas.

Yeah me too! I've posted a message to the guy who uploaded this bit, telling him that he's a naughty boy, just uploading a short clip!

no luck!

I just got a reply from the guy who have this video on his youtube page.

Here's what he had to say:

"Hey there...thanks for asking about the video.
It was one of a series of videos I did for BMW last year.
All the videos up on my YouTube site are there as a sort of an on-line demo reel for me to show potential clients. So while there might be references to other videos, not all of them are on my youtube page.
Sorry man!!!

Thanks for commenting.
Best, Geoff"

So, no part 2!?

Hmmm, gave up a bearing for a bushing... I am somewhat glad that all of my engines where built before October of 2007!

Its fine as long as it is oil pressure fed which I`m sure it is...like crankshaft and connecting rods that are spinning on bushings.

Count me in

PS: it's questionable why BMW doesn't promote that sort of things. Or...erm...maybe rumors about that boxer (finito la musica) are true?

The other common parts between the R1200S engine and the HP2S engine are the piston rings.

Remember the early tear down that Chris at San jose did.

BMW Roundel I bothered him more....

Here's what e said when I bothered him further!

"Thanks again for your comment.
I'm a corporate video producer for BMW and I put these clips up on my site to show potential clients what I do. So, with that said, I have to put the "best of the best" of what I have up there in as many different topics as possible to people I hope to produce for.

There are other videos in the series, yes, but they exist within an internal BMW educational course and technically I'm not at liberty to post them. Sorry but I'm also not permitted to make copies of them for anyone but internal personnel. (In fact, I'm taking a little bit of a chance posting these). So...catch them while you can, because at some point in the near future I''ll need to pull them off my YT site.

Best, G"

So... no luck guys! (Maybe someone spy-ish can sneek into bmw-education-place and borrow a video for a while?)

:-D

As I said, Motorrad lost the plot again! These videos should being available (in some sort of official BMW site) in order...well...you understand the effects on super pipe and slippers boxer fanatics.

Moral: target missed my some miles.

They don't seem to be aiming at your target.
