Need help from one of my european pals...

hello all,
I have a dillema i was hoping someone could help me with...I have a 04 prep that i had been wanting a belly pan for. After a little reseaech on this site i found a thread We have the same scoot and he had a link to where he got his belly pan. So I went to the link, ordered the pan, paid thru paypal, and was excited to finally have the pan......3 days later i get an email that the company in germany does not ship to the usa?! After repeated emails to the company I have had no luck.... I was curious if someone across the pond would be willing to purchase said pan have it shipped to them in europe where ever they reside, and then in turn ship it to me. I would happily pay for the pan , plus whatever the shipping is, and even for your time if anyone is willing to help....
I know no one really knows me from this forum being I dont post alot, however lately I have been on more often and would like to continue to be.....so if anyone can help me or has any other ideas, please let me know
Thanks alot!!!!!

Sorry, you left a public message and those don't give notifications.

Do realize these things are BIG and come in BIG boxes, which will make it rather expensive to ship. Think something like 3'x1'x1'. I think something like $50-$75, if I am checking the postal site correctly.

Dunno if that still makes you interested.

So let me know, and if u wanna do this, ill shoot all my info to you.

Bellypan

I'd also be interested in a bellypan. Do you really think shipping would be that expensive? sure, it's a big box...

Odd that they won't ship to the U.S.

Freight Forwarder

You need to find a freight forwarder in Europe that will handle the customs for you. That is a major reason why some companies don't ship here. If you bundle a group buy it could be worth the trouble. My 2c.

Belly Pan

I have an extra bellypan made of fibreglass that is an exact replica of the carbon fibre one. I purchased two from germany last year, attempted to paint them both silver to match my bike w/spray paint. Not a good effort on my part - so I took one to a professional painter and had it color matched to my titanium silver prep. The other is still in it's semi-painted state...I'm sure it could be easily sanded and painted in you desired colors - preferably by a professional.

Are you interested? I'm happy to take photos of mine installed and the one I can part with. You will need to get the BMW original mounting hardware - or fashion you own mounting brackets.

Let me know.

Kevin

It's yours for the taking....

Postal,

Two others have lined up for it, but I figured you started the thread - so you should have 1st shot.

I'd like $175, plus shipping. Should be somewhere around $200 depending on how and where it's going.

PM me with your info if you want it....Otherwise, it's going to one of the other interested parties.

gentlemen,
i have purchased the pan that kevin8 was offering, however once again you can get them from ricambiweiss, its just that they wont ship stateside or canada....so shipping is the only problem. If u could find a frieght forwarder like nail has suggested that would be the way to go...thanks to throttle as well for the original link to ricambiweiss.....

A friend of mine bought one from Airtech. The quality was pretty lacking. I could live with having to sand seams in the form or edges but this thing wasn't even shaped right and it shows in the photos on their website. The upper edges that come up just behind the cylinders stick outward instead of pointing up. We had to cut the pan and add a 1/8" wide strip of fiberglass just to make the thing fit correctly.
