How Do you make the FRK fit?

I finally attempted to fit the FRK module on my R12, but had trouble getting it out of the way enough to get the body work back on. I know it's all my fault, but just in case, a question to all how have one on a R12, how?? Mine measures up at 1 5/8" wide, 1 1/2" tall (not counting mount tab),1 3/16" deep. The depth is the problem, it seems to be to thick to fit in the gap between the air box and the bodywork. All help much appreciated.

Put it on the floor and give it a good hard wack with a lump hammer, it should then be slim enough to fit.

I assume you mounted it where the directions show and velcro'd it to stay in place as you put the plastic on?

Placed it in the posistion shown on instruction CD, no velcro included. It looks different to the pictures on the CD. I will try again tonight with module stuck in place.

I've only done this with the K12S, Paul, and it has lots of room "under there", so I don't know about the boxer. Tell us how it goes though as I am considering it for my other bike.

I expect Robert Foster to pipe up soon.....must be out....weekend and all.

Oh for lots of room, I had another go at fitting the FRK with it stuck to the side of the air box as in the pictures in the install instructions, still no go. I realise I'm in the southern hemisphere and everything is backward, but it won't fit backwards either. Hopefully Robert Foster will give me a suggestion as to where to put the FRK. As you can see by the photo's, the bodywork hits the module.

Calling Robert Foster.

Is there room under the tank on top of the airbox? Joel Gross in Atlanta also did this. Maybe he can pipe up.

There is not enough room above the airbox. The only place i can see that there is enough room is at the front of the airbox under the tank, but i would have to lift the tank out of the way. I am starting to wonder if i was sent the correct module for the R12.

Here's the one for the K-bike. Kinda looks the same to me. Too bad I didn't measure it.

The CD shows the module placed a bit different than you show it. Look carefully.

could it have something to do with the OZ bikes?

we don't have the charcoal filter thing - maybe they are slightly different under there?

Completely different place, Chewie. Charcoal cannister is in front of the front shock.

I thought it may have meant a change in other fitments as a matter of course, but being where you say it is, it wouldn't change anything else down where the FRK'n thing hooks up I spose.

Just putting it out there Bobster

Surely someone out there has fitted one to an R12S - what say you, speak up and sort out this conundrum.
