Question Xtreme License Plate Bracket R1100S--PROBLEMS! Need help

Hi all,
I bought a 04 R1100SA with the Xtreme License Plate Bracket already installed on it. I should have realized something was not quite right when I saw the previous owners license plate attached using zip ties, ie the holes in the bracket don't line up with the standard hole locations in the license plate! The Xtreme bracket does not allow enough room at the top of the license plate so the hole mismatch is about 1/2 inch.
Regardless, I set about using the bracket because it was there. I bent two strips of sheet metal to more or less mount my license plate vertical versus the Xtreme bracket very obtuse angle. I also wanted to put some 'blue' LED lights in the license plate holes, buy at Auto Zone. It makes the cages wonder whats in front of them and I put them on all my bikes.
I picked up my bike last night and rode to a dinner club meeting and home. When I pulled into the garage I noticed the entire bottom of the license plate was bent, and the entire license plate was bowed. I'll take pictures and post later, but the end result is: I was riding alone, nothing in the system cases, nothing on the rear seat, just my weight and it was not safe with this Xtreme license plate bracket!! If I was loaded for a camping trip I can't imagine the contact between the rear tire and the bracket not causing some kind of failure of the tire.
DOES ANYBODY HAVE A GOOD LOOKING AFTERMARKET LICENSE PLATE BRACKET THEY'VE HEARD ABOUT OR HAVE?
Any help would be appreciated. Please email me offline CaptRehkopf@comcast.net

I removed the stock license plate holder from my 04 and put on a bracket from A&S, with the intention of getting the light screws. before I did, I bent my plate too. Not sure how, I don't carry much weight, but from what I understand, the rear has a pretty big throw from the shock. It actually happened after I put an Ohlins shock on. Or maybe it was the shock that has the throw...

regardless, I bought the "trick kit" from someone on this board (cheaper than retail thankfully), and installed it. It has a much different angle out, so it clears the rear no matter the throw. I also wired in the license plate light so no need for the screw lights. I actually like the look of it a lot too.

just make sure to get some rubber grommets where you mount it. Otherwise it'll rattle loose (did that to me!). I used blue loctite too!!!

I'll post a pic of mine tomorrow.

back/side view, angle is out more, so tire cannot hit the plate. Wired down license plate light and indicators.

straight back view. the notch out in the system cases look a little out of place now, since I don't have indicators that stick out to the side.

Here are my pictures. In some of the pictures I'm trying to show that the bent license plate is within 1/4" of being 'level' horizontal with the bottom of the Xtreme bracket. I'm thinking the tire must routinely rub the bottom of the Xtreme bracket.
Again, any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
