SBK has completely sold out to TV. No season pass option like MotoGP. Tell me who the champion is after the season is over. They don't want fans, all they want is TV $$$'s and races cut up by commercials. I'll stick to my season pass to MotoGP. Just another year of testing for BM.

Chris, there might be one or two "surprise" horsees in the race... maybe not to win it all, but most certainly to mix things up a little here and there.
We'll see... Bubba, sometimes you remind me of a little boy who didn't get to have dessert... how do you think they finance large parts of that circus nowadays? And, what exactly is the difference in wanting $$$ from you while watching on the internet or while watching on TV? You pay either way... even for your all beloved MotoGP Pass...

The dumb commercials are what enables most people to watch it to begin with... as unfortunate as it may seem to you. Neither MotoGP nor WSBK would be able to continue their existence without TV money...
WSBK just had more of a need to sell out completely... it's the name of the game. It's not like the olden days when you were watching one channel on your black and white hand crank TV set, Bubba...

Mickey Fab fastest on Day 2, Haslam the fastest of the fours, Corser 12th and the Kawas as slow as rust. Still, looking like a great weekend.

It’s a bit of a worry when a super powerful “high tech” I4 is 1.2 seconds slower around a fast circuit like Phillip Island than a V twin. What hope does a mere mortal have of getting better performance on the road where top end HP is of no importance.

This comment makes me think about top fuel drag racing, Owen. They have never been short on hp; but, the transmission of all that hp to rear wheel and how it interacts with the track surface is the real problem. That was the problem the S1000RR had during its 2009 intro to SBK.

Man, it is strange to see the great-package, but not-peak-power-Ducs basically shutting out all other comers on the 2nd day. Looks like a Ducati year. They've sure found something, and the customer ducs look to be just as fast as factory. I'll wager the only difference is the factory getting the latest SW updates a bit faster, and maybe having better funding/infrastructure.
And the powerful BMW being SO far behind on an HP track like PI, and it being Corser's home track, is worrying too. I'd hoped they'd have stepped it up more. Ditto Aprilia.

And Chris C. What do you think is up with the Yam? Rider downgrade, or a chassis 'upgrade' whose attendant chatter is holding up an otherwise good set of riders and bikes?
There was a year where Yam's MotoGP bikes had consistent chatter, and it never really got fully sorted until the new chassis the next year. Yam's 'magic numbers' seem to put them near or on the edge of chatter, limiting their setup options, regardless of GP or SBK program (their seems to be more relationship between the two, than at any of the other factories).
