Best exhaust for an R1100S?

I have access to both a ZTechnik and a Staintune Exhausts.

Any one have experience with ether or both of them?

Thanks
Steve

Steve,

There is a lot of information on exhaust systems for these bikes on this site if you do a search. I have a Staintune system on my R1100S. After 10-years and 47K miles, the system is still gorgeous and sounds great. I've been told that mine is the best sounding BMW ever heard. The bike runs fine with the stock chip as long as the exhaust is the only engine modification, but when the prices dropped on the Ulitmap/FIM chips a few years ago, I went ahead and sprung for one. The downsides to the Staintune are limited options for huggers (I protect the shock with a shock sock) and access to the bottom shock bolt (how often do you touch that?) due to the dual pipes.

Between those 2, it's the Staintune, no question whatsoever. Not even close.
Don't forget the chip.

yep, staintune. 50k on mine, still sounds "the bestest", still shiny.

plus, they don't rot, even if you live next to the ocean.
one of the two best things australians make (ugg boots being the other).

Oh, and the Staintune can be polished if it does lose its shine.

Currently I have the ZTechnik on my bike with a carbon intake K&N and a Dobeck Performance EFI.
I rode the bike between installing each piece and originally started out with the ZTechnik chip.
The chip originally made the largest difference in ridability, but I ended up going with the stock chip and the Dobeck Performace EFI and it made a HUGE difference. Both Sound and Power. Very easy to adjust using the seat of the pants dyno. Also , only runs $262 which is half that of the Power commander. Works well, but is only manually adjustable with no interface to hook up to a computer.

I have yet to try the StainTune, but so far the I'm happy with the ZTechnik.
and just trying to decide if it is worth trying it out.

I read the post :
Exhaust for the r1100s
and it had a lot of good feedback.
