Nice! The odds of it being produced are about the same as me winning the lottery tomorrow...

Its on the way!

As I have mentioned numbers of times.................its on the way Shed. The final form is not yet decided on but just let it be known...........a new 136 HP R something S that will sell for under 18,500, have the R4V engine, aclose ratio trans, possible traction control, a slipper clutch, and lighter weight than any previous S twin BMW ever made except the HP2. Its on the way. More peak torque than the current HP2 sport.

The only really new thing I see here is the frame.

No Telelever or Duolever is a BIG disappointment.

If I wanted Telescopic forks, why would I not buy a much more attainable and affordable bike, like a Ducati Monster, Speed Triple, SV1000S, or Guzzi Griso 8-valve.

Hot frame, great motor, lighter weight, reasonable price.... what's not to like. I hope BMW decides to produce it. Given the sales of the R12S, I'm not holding my breath....

So...a slow motor in a fast frame. Well, why not, it seems to work for Motuguzzi.

That's an old hat. Onekiwi was right.

-> Alu - Sauer, 77704 Oberkirch

on the left side, klick on BMW R1200 racing

lower and upper triple clamp come from BKG -> www.bkg-bikeparts.de (as some parts on my bike)
wheels are PVM forged alu (street or track use) or forged magnesium alloy (only track use) -> www.pvm.de
(PVM has great experience with mag wheels, alu wheels and other lightweight forged parts, I think the company once built the mag wheels for the Me 109 fighter planes)
brake rotors are from Braking and the CF parts from Ilmberger. -> www.ilmberger-carbon.de

Martin Sauer himself (a genius in working with alu) made the fuel tank and the front subframe as well as the alu rear frame.
You can also get a seat and a fairing made of a one-piece-sheet of alu, the parts are fu**ing light, ~ like glass fibre parts.

The bike has 28.5 kg less weight, with mag wheels more than 30 kg less weight..... with turn indicators, horn, headlight and all the other parts. It's even TÜV approved, so you can use it fully street legal.

about or less than 180 kg full with oil and gas and a good tuned 2 cyl.- 1170 cc boxer motor (still endurable like mine) with about 140-145 hp (DIN !)
I'm not sure that this can be described as "slow" for most of the riders outside MotoGP or WSBK.

Does it carry bags and have a longer range tank?

The 17 ltr. will last for approx. 160km range when the bike is driven properly. Enough for a sprint race. Martin Sauer himself took part in the privateer Speed.to boxercup series with the bike shown on his website.

I have always wondered... if the headstock subframe can just be replaced, as evidently this picture shows... to convert from Telelever, to lighter, track-ready Ohlins telescopic forks...

Is there anyone who builds a headstock sub-frame to mount a K-bike Duolever front end to the top of a Hex-head boxer engine.

I really wish I had the $$$$ to build a combination of a new R12 DOHC motor, HP2-S blue-painted main trellis frame, R1200R tail section and tank, and a K1200R-Sport front suspension and front half-fairing with fairing mounted mirrors, like R12S and K12S. All painted in BoxerCup/PowerCup colors.

I wouldn't want a Duo-lever front end. Has all the feel of a block of wood to me. Good for a high speed cruise, but not sporting.

No more cross-over to touring that's for sure. I like it, except maybe the seat. It looks like it would hurt after 15 minutes.

did you read the thread? thats not a 1250s that shreddr joked about/wishes for. its a 1200s with a converted telescopic front that's been done already.
