Installing speed bleeders
Hey folks, I purchased a set of speed bleeders for my front caliper. I wanted to know how should I go about installing them. Should I just unscrew the old nipple and replace or must I follow certain procedure. No instructions in the new speed bleeder box.

pretty much straight ahead- remove the old ones, install the new ones. some fluid will dribble out, so have a rag nearby. on the right side, if not already done, remove the entire housing that the grub screw sits in. basically, remove everything that keeps the right side caliper from looking like the left.
when you go to bleed fluid, just back the SB out a bit to allow fluid movement, then proceed as you normally would for bleeding. |
Keep in mind that brake fluid is hard on any finish that it remains on.

How often to you replace the coating on the threads? Rique, you can see the ball and spring poppet valve. It allows the fluid/air to go one way. You can do the same with a vacuum bleeder.
