I ran my engine low enough on oil to damage the crank bearings. The bike started cold, ran fine, but clackety-clackety & babbit material in the oil... the original plan was to rebuild (which is why I bought a case/crank/rods on eBay) but then found the identical bike just 10 miles away, and the price was right; so rather than sell as a whole, I parted out. I've gotten more from it today than I would have selling in one piece to BeemerBoneyard; but again, there's the PITA factor.

Thanks, that makes sense now. Guess I missed the bad engine part somewhere.
