Roger, if I wanted a set of lightweight tires for street riding and don't want carbon fiber, which would you recommend: forged or cast, aluminium or magnesium?
|
...and this is what it looked like last year...
...Hartenjäger #4... http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/6a30ffbb.jpg |
Roloo, I'm curious as to why they chose to do the cutouts on the nose/headlight fairing in front of the hands. Any ideas?
|
.
...they didn't ; it just looks that way... ...just compare the Hartenjäger to the original... http://0.tqn.com/d/motorcycles/1/0/e...FL_3-4_ext.jpg . |
An optical delusion. hmmm.
|

Jerry, as Chris said, you might not even have a choice. For the street, it's hard to argue against forged Al being the most fault/damage tolerant, and the most bang for the buck. Mg is what you buy if your budget and risk-tolerance and performance-needs are all somewhere between Al and CF. I've been very happy with my forged Al PVMs. And for that matter, Braking Rotors. They are a big improvement over stock in weight and braking power and feel. The Alths might be better, but not a lot. Braking are already very very good. |

...very first test sesions... ...but so very different from the former Boxer-Jägers... ...a lot (and I mean 'a lot !') more HP ; so, a lot faster... ...conventional forks... ...slicks... ...deeper handlebars... ...the S1000 feels smaller than any R1100S/R1200S/HP2Sport-Jäger... ...etc.etc.etc... ...a few pictures : http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/17a5c8bb.jpg heating up the slicks http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/7bacce99.jpg getting dressed for all the fun http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/6f0bfda3.jpg here 'we' go, for this all new experience http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/a409b8a1.jpg bwooooooap... http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/06121338.jpg well..., it looks quite serious http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/8c9a99f8.jpg not bad at all for a first training session http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/c6c49740.jpg and back again in one piece http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/afcecc89.jpg sticky rubber http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...1/45742538.jpg ...and I..., I just brought the good old boxer with me...; nothing more, nothing less... ;) . |
