Hartenjäger number 5 in progress !

.

After the Wiki-leak affair, I have a few VanHarten-leaks for ya !

In a dark cellar somewhere in Amersfoort a few of the Van Harten boys are very busy transferring a stock S1000RR into their new Hartenjäger #5.
Number 1 was a R1100S, number two this world famous K1200S (at this moment for sale here (hit the occasion button)), number 3 was a R1200S, and number 4 was a HP2 Sport (also check Van Harten Performance - Van Harten Racing)

number one

number two

number three

and number four

And as said ; their 5-series (…) is a S1000RR with A LOT of nice, and extremely expensive goodies.
Just because it’s possible.

And from that moist dark room, I already have a few leaked snapshots for those who like it.

Really thick carbon engine protection stuff (clutch cover), a huge amount of Ti (or do we have to call it TIT these days…) bolts, and a lot of them with tiny holes drilled in it, to secure the stuff, and those gorgeous Alpha Racing (alpha Racing - Startseite von alpha Racing.) rear sets.

Shiny light weight race style quick shifter, instead of the stocker, and again drilled Ti bolts all over the place.
And a carbon alternator cover.

On the previous Hartenjägers we could find Wilbers suspension (WhitePower on number one), but…, on this one the stock rear shock is already replaced by a beautiful made, highly multi adjustable, and very expensive Öhlins.

Wilbers has a rear shock in their program for the S1000RR, but they haven’t got a front fork.
And Öhlins has. So…, choice made !

And I’ve already seen the new front fork…, and man…, that’s some beautiful piece of machinery, and very (as in : VERY !) expensive.

Every front fork is totally custom made ; and is by far something different than a ‘off the shelf’ fork.

Also in the picture the complete resprayed, black rear forks, with a carbon protection kit, and a black sub frame.

On the front the ordinary plastic container is replaced by a very lightweight, and nifty looking carbon one, an it's the same one Corser has…

BTW ; in these pictures you can still see the stock BMW S1000RR forks. The Öhlins fork is still safely tucked away.

And instead of the stock plastic air induct, the new one is also a carbon one, including a fantastic looking carbon instrument holder.

And it goes on, and on my friends.
As soon as I can dig up more pics, I will leak them…, but you can expect a lot of nice details…

BTW ; introduction of number 5 is scheduled for March 19, 2011.

So ; stay tuned !

(BTW ; this could be some shreddr-like kind of project… ; except for the Wossner stuf…)

.

I assume this means: tastefully modified, balancing aesthetics with performance!

Looks nice Ron, thanks for the leak!

I'm surprised they went with Braking rotors - several have here have voiced a preference for the full floating Alths, understandably.
However, I have 10K plus on my Braking rotors, they give great performance for the money and I have been very satisfied with them - I've just now developed a detectable wear edge.
Looking forward to using them this year with fresh Vesrah pads.

Any idea why they went with Braking? They sure didn't make any other budget minded choices.

the rotors didn't surprise me, but the stock wheels sure did, and then I noticed all the bikes had stock wheels. i guess that is one of the "unchangeable" items, but a set of BST's or some marchesini's sure would set it apart.

...because they work well, and look good...

...on the other hand ; I wouldn't be surprised if they will be replaced (sooner or later) by these...

...full floating Alpha Technik (Alpha Racing) rotors...

(and they carry them in stock)

Way cheaper than Alth. I got a quote a $400 a disc w/o taxes for Alth.... Anybody tried these discs ? I'm very interested.

By the way, the S1000RR are 320x5mm semi floating discs. Are those identical to our R1100S ones ? That would open a new world of aftermarket parts, as the S1000 is the new hot thing.

With all the CF and Ti, I don't think it was cost. Maybe they have doubts about CF wheels??

Last time I checked, they had, depending on application, forged and cast, Mg and Al.
Pretty diverse line.
