Col,

Nice bike.

I might be moving to Victoria by August.

Now if I can spare the pennies.

As an ex-Ducati owner, have you rode the new Multistrada yet? I have test rode both two weeks ago. It is lighter, corners better, etc. Or, is it the looks of this bike that grab you?

Bob, I rode and liked the Multistrada very much but the Diavel just does it for me at this stage.

Lenny , you may well have sat on this bike when it was new as it was the Cycleworld demo bike in Launy before I bought it.

Now for an update , I have taken a deposit pending the new owner actually seeing the bike, he has made a firm offer and if it passes his inspection then it is off to a new home

Chewie , its a guy in Shepparton who thinks he may have bought a HPE muffler from you.

The potential new owner has an R1100S for sale so if any Aussie Pelicans like the look of this , shoot me a PM.

Col, the guy at the Ducati shop told me that the headlight acts like the windshield to move the air up to about chest height. Where does the relative wind hit you?

Also, does anyone know who manufacturers the windshield on this 11S?

That new Tuono does it for me!
Looks like the new bikes are going down the same track with having 3 engine modes.
Anti wheelie, and launch control great looking bike too!

Bubba , I am 6 foot 4 and the wind was around chest high, it also meant that my helmet was well clear of any turbulence so the ride was very smooth.
I will be ordering the touring seat which adds a bit of height , whilst the legroom was ok , I understand from Diavel forums that the touring seat fixes the problem I had with parts of my anatomy and the back of the fuel tank under braking.

I have asked the owner where the screen came from.

Bubba , I got a reply back from the owner of the 1100S (and soon to be 1200S) and he says
"the screen on it is made in Germany by MTA motorcyle screens," he also said he had it cut down by about 30mm when he got it, to suit him.

So there you go

Frank that is extremely cool ,thats my bike alright. I picked it up from Cycleworld in December 06, they were losing the franchise at the end of the year and so were offering great deals, shipped her up to Darwin then back down to Victoria. She doesn't quite look like that now but is just as shiny. Hope you enjoyed the ride.As much as I did

Col,

At least I would not worry about a test ride as it is not required.

i will take Franks opinion that it is worth buying too.

Col, sounds promising!

I did sell a HPE silencer once I found a complete system, so that'd be right

hope all goes well

I was at the Ducati factory yesterday in Borgo Panigale and saw the PP in person for the first time, and it's stunning. If you like th way it looks I'd be ready to buy one before you ride it, because it will be torture if you don't. My last ride on mine a few weeks ago after almost two months of ring my HP2S exclusively for a couple of months reminded me how fantastic the Multi is. I ran it to redline in second and snapped it wide open in third and felt the front wheel rise. When it touched down I looked at the speedo...92mph! I loved my GS's, all five of the various ones I've owned, but none of them even came close to the excitement of the Multi 1200.

The chap who gave me a deposit came and had a look today , he must have been planning to own a 1200S for a long time as he already has a set of Heli-bars at home and had previously bought Chewie's HPE end can. He spent a good while having a look , with a mate he had brought with him, reiterated the offer he had made over the phone , which I was more than happy with, and we shook hands. So I guess I am no longer the owner of an R1200S.

I came across this forum when I was researching the 12 , registered after I bought it and now in a way my time here is done. Thanks to all who have offered advice , help , good natured ribbing and some terrific entertainment. Having looked at the Diavel forums available they are nothing like PP so I won't be joining them, in-fact the bike is widely derided on some Ducati owner forums over run with rich squids.

Th R1200S was the first bike I bought on feeling not numbers and I am sad to see her go.

I will spam this forum with some pics of the Diavel when she arrives.

Thanks

What tailbag is that? I run the topbox currently, but its overkill for 90% of my rides.

Also, what is that screen? Shorter than stock?

Hey if this isn't a wake up call for BMW!
You've got Col who's gone over to Ducati!
You've got Shred who's in Love with the PP Multi
and I am very interested in looking at the Tuono
when it comes here!
Now what's that saying?
3 guys of mature age and nothing new in the BM range to hold us?
