I like it a lot more than the stock r12r which really falls apart at the front visually, but it's a bit 'sensible shoes'. Honestly I like Roloo's wildness a lot, that is right up my street!!

this isn't photoshop, it's photoChop! that has to be the stupidest looking thing I have ever seen, all the obvious inconsistencies like the telelever and USD fork, shock attached to the torque arm, and that crazy red and black roundel!

Indeed, it's a mad technical mash up, but I really like its overall look, it has an edgy and agressive style that is far more exciting than anything in our favorite brands offerings of late.

I have to go with Andrew here - not a lot of style chances being taken with the boxer by the boys in Bavaria (other than the ST- and we all know how that turned out) Too bad, I really like unique looking motorcycles.

taste is certainly subjective, but I think they hit the nail on the sport boxer head with the HP2S, it's perfect!
that bike above is an abomination

I think they stole the red black roundel off RoLoo's 1200S

If you were seated on that thing it would give the appearance of you having a red hot spring shoved up your butt...
Funny comment about BMW not taking styling chances. Remember when the r1200s came out - most here were shocked and mad...

Not like R1100S is. Frankly, BMW motorcycle styling isn't the best in the industry, regardless of the current or recent model. Their tech is interesting, and on the best BMWs, the tech interest and competence is a bigger margin, than the aesthetic margin against... and plenty of other company's bikes are not that good looking, either. The R1200ST could have been fantastic, but instead it looked like a cyclops from middle earth or something, and was on par technically with the R/RT/GS, instead of being higher power, like the S. RT was better looking and more capable, with the same amount of power. R12S was arguably too focused, compared to R11S, and I am glad it has morphed into the HP2S. IF the HP2S were a bit more affordable, with plastic, rather than loads of expensive and hard to get CF bodywork... it would probably be more approachable with no other changes. The regular R12S being gone, and RT being a tourer, and R being a basic naked roadster, it leaves a gap where ST should live, if it were turned into something truly good. I love vertically stacked headlights, where it allows the fairing to be more pointed, and aerodynamic... Duc 999, Benelli Tornado, MV F4... upcoming new Buell... but R12ST was not that, and was nowhere even close to looking as good as a VFR or Sprint ST... and the K-S was just as practical and roomy even while more sport focused and much more powerful. An R12ST would need to get back to the more nimble, lighter, mechanically simpler benefits of an R-bike over a K. With water cooling... the next R-bikes of any style, will probably add more power and efficiency, maybe longer service intervals, but more weight and complexity for the rad and water routing, and air handling on the back side of the radiator. |

Yeah, mebbe so but...
I didn't want an RT/GS/R and I hadnt drunk the kool aid yet when I discovered the ST. Great size, great weight, great concept, exceptional headlights and nothing-on-the-road-like-it styling. I loved it. Unfortunately very few others felt the same ![]() |

Haha! No I carefully insured it had a good home with one of my riding buddies (who still has it and rides with me occasionally) in order to acquire a jump in power and slightly more sporty ergos and suspension (my current R12S).
Honestly though, IMHO the ST was a better all rounder than my S despite quite a bit of money spent on seats, luggage and suspension. I'd hate to give up the power though. |

Well it confirms that the orange on above was a photoshop creation, but rather sadly this one is even uglier! That motor really needs to be black for a start, but why make the front plate to ugly, where is thier sense of style?

You've seen BMWs before, right? Not exactly the most attractive motorcycles on the market.
