Paint code

Does anybody have the paint code for the Manderian yellow. I need to paint my CF nose cone and belly pan.

TIA
Chris

From the fishies: "base paint, two-coat mandarin (500ML 414)"
or "two stage touch up set mandarin (414)"

Of course, the fiche diagram says "Painted parts 736 Mandarin", but I'd assume that the color number on the part name is the correct one (414).

I can pull my seat on my lunch break and get it off the frame, assuming the sticker is still there.

Most Paint Shops should know the Glasurit paint codes.

Find the paint code under the seat, a 3 digit code. Which may be the color scheme and or paint code. Sometimes it's tricky to track down a paint code on some of the older bikes. Now BMW is using a new paint code numbering system that includes letters also! If you don't find it let me know and I'll track it down for you.

By the way if you're going to paint the parts yourself be patient. Carbon fiber is VERY porous and it will take several coats of a high build sanding primer to fill in the texture. You'll probably have to sand the primer and reapply more. Don't scrimp with the primer. Color and clear are easy! www.prismmotorcyclepainting.com

John, Actually the guy next door was going to paint them for me. So what do you charge to paint a cf nose cone and a f.glass full belly pan?

Hi Chris, To prep and paint both parts in Glasurit Mandarin would be 425. complete including return shipping.

After clearcoating the parts get sanded and polished to a glass smooth finish.

I can have them back to you in about a week, ten days.

I'm looking for paint to match the driveline on my 12S -- gotta couple deep scratches that I just want to make less noticeable. From searching, I know RoLoo painted his hugger to match, but I didn't see any paint codes for that. Does anybody know if there is touch-up paint specifically to match the powdercoat look of the driveline?

Mike, I doubt that you can simply get the paint code and match the existing paint on your scooter at this point in time. I took a significant painted part off my '08 R12RT and allowed them to scan it and then blend a match for me. It was perfect.

If you are talking about the silver driveline, try this then cover with cear coat.

No, I was looking for the black driveline paint, but I will still follow your suggestion unless somebody else who has done it (e.g. RoLoo) and knows the paint code can advise me. Thanks-
