How to access the fuse holders without removing the fairing (1100)
 

OK so with the recent discussion about accessing the fuse holders without removing the fairing, I thought it might be helpful to photograph what's happening under the bike, and how they mount, so people can visualize what they are doing when they reach in there. The key thing you need to remember is that when you reach in and grab these, they both need to rotate roughly 45 degrees COUNTERCLOCKWISE, and then they will release and can be pulled out of the mounting bracket.

Put differently you must push DOWN on the rear of the one on the left side, and pull UP on the rear of the one on the right.

Left side, secured. Note the black bit poking through the bracket is rotated to secure it:

Better show them how to unsnap the cover while your at it. :)

Mine have always been zip tied so I learned how to pop the cover off while they are in place. I don't remember if the zip ties were OEM.

I should have mentioned - my left one was ziptied, but I couldn't see a good reason why, and thinking about the guys that were having trouble with this, and the potential to need to access it by the side of the road, I removed it. It did NOT look OEM, was kind-of askance.

Pretty easy to do once you've done it a few times.
It's all right in front of your eyes, it's just whether u can get your fingers in there without drawing blood. The fuse placement inside the fusebox is in the manual.

If U do it the hard way by taking the fairing off U learn quick. That is a pain in the hind end.
