Is this yours, or just one you photod at a dealer? These super sports don't do a thing for me anymore. I'm all about twins in my dotage :-)

Looks good. But it also looks like every jap sport bike out there. Just doesn't have that wow factor I'm looking for.

I'm starting to believe you only get a few "Wow!" factors in life with motorcycles and just about everything else. All the other's you have to simply accept - or you will run out of time...

That looks to be the back parking area of Foothill's BMW.

I like it. They should have gone to this color scheme a few years back.

This isnt my bike I have a 2011 Magma Red version.
Since they just got it yesterday I wanted to take some pictures of it,
The online photos dont really show the color differences,
so putting eyes on the real McCoy was my mission.
The location is indeed Foothills BMW
For the WOW factor besides the looks department thats just an opinion.
You really need to ride the bike and use the options it has to realize how much WOW factor is actually present.

The reoccurring theme I see is that most anyone thats owned one will tell you its the best/nicest bike they ever rode,
me included.

The handling, the suspension, the brakes, the PoWOWer ,
the shift assist, the traction control

It does have a few foibles,
but frankly no one will outrun you,
and if you wanna just putt along it does that very easily.

Only a test ride will answer for you if your WOW factor has been met

There's no doubt it has the power and build quality of a fine German machine, but in my opinion I expect a little more imagination as far as design goes. It's no HP2 if ya know what I'm saying.

I have never ridden one, but I am guessing I would like it better than an S1000RR only because I am sure it would be better egos and perhaps a little more tractable power. For my riding I am sure it wouldn't hold a candle to my HP2S, which weighs 100lbs less with nearly equivalent power and impeccable handling.

If you're riding mostly twisties the HP2S is the better bike. I've owned a K1200S and an HP2S. While the HP2S will out pull a 998S in a roll-on the K1200S will pull as hard as a 1098 in a roll on. I've done both. Riding the K1300S you can feel the extra power over the K1200S...not a huge amount but it's more.

If you are just talking straight line performance it's the K1300S the whole way.

Like Naked, I have had both the K1200S and the HP2. For sheer brute, in line power, the K1200S is very strong...............but for me the HP2 offers a lightness of weight, ease of handling, and strength of braking (60mph to 0mph in 106 feet MCN) that would always make it a favorite for me over the big K1200S unless I was crossing the country and needed to get there really quick..........then the new K1300S might be the better choice.

I'd have that red, monolever Kompact Drive System K100RS in the background in image 8 instead. More character. Looks like nothing else, before or since.

Hi Dana I looked at the K100 and it is pretty well worn,
it was a used bike they have for sale.
Have you ever had a chance to sit on or ride a new K1300S or K1200S?

Oh, don't pay me no mind. I just love those old Kompact Drive System Ks. It's an aesthetic thing, is all. I'm sure any newer bike'd blow it into the weeds.

Cheers.

I visited Foothills BMW today, while in town on business, and saw this bike. She's gorgeous.
