Peter Egan had some good things to say about the R1100S in the Feb. issue.
Maybe it will help our resale value. No doubt it is still one of the best Sport
Tourers out there.

He had been pining for one for a while. Six months or so ago he dropped a couple mentions, and a month or 2 ago he even mentioned in in his Road &Track column.

He also romanticized about it when he borrowed one from a friend and rode 2 up a couple of years ago. He like everone else I have talked to that owned one and said they wish they had kept her. Except Shredder. Like I tell people that ask there is faster, quicker and lighter but few that are as fun. Kinda like my last girl friend.

It's a special bike in my book. Does everything pretty good....and the looks are over the top.

It's funny, and this has happened a few times...wife and I will be out and see one in a parking lot....I'll drive up and look at....stare a little...then she says something like....I thought you have one of those...i just smile....and say yea. She probably thinks I'm nuts.

It truly is a looker. I recall one day my friends Honda Pan European and my Fat Girl were outside a café. A guy came up and looked at both bikes and said Man That is one gorgeous bike. My friend said thanks its a new Honda... fella said not that piece of junk the BMW, THe BMW!

The only bike I've had that garnered as much attention from non-motorcycle folks was my ' 96 Duc 900 SS/SP with the yellow body kit from a CR. Frequently note people just walking around the S and checking it out when parked up in town.

Even hear the ubiquitous "I didn't know BMW made bikes" now and then. LOL!

RIQUE, Your fat girl mite get a complex with you calling her that...!!!

I talk to mine, she responds, lol... Remember in 98 going into the BMW shop, first set eyes on a black 11s, an it was a demo bike, so took it for a ride there an then, 2 hours later i returned, loved it, but didn't buy one till 01 when the yellow/black came in, 5k later it turned into a 1150 gs adventure, not sure why, then in 03 i found myself in the dealer, an the randy mamola bc just arrived, couldnt resist, so rode off on her... still get a hard on every time i see one on the road, or my own in the shed... Timeless shape...

While I love the way the R1100S looks, no one ever saw it if my wife came along with her 750 Monster-

My wife and I have matching 900 SS's and I also have my R1100S. I am used to people coming up to us and ogling over our bikes, doesn't matter which one I am riding!

Maybe they´re checking out your lady but your Red 1100 is way better looking than the Duc Monster.

Yeah, who's kidding who?

I had a red monster. Once it was beautiful, but it's not a timeless beauty like the r1100s.

I'll say that the paint was a more attractive red than the BMW salmon...

Big difference between a beautiful red bike and a beautiful timeless red bike.
