Got a free weekend and some maps. Rolling out at 8:00 in the morning. Time to check the leathers for spiders, and charge up the camera batteries. Ride report will be posted as it happens. It's been awhile, since I have posted one of these….. SmileWavy

Sergio, I would love to have that M3...my favorite car in my favorite color! I talked one of best friends into getting a GS, same black edition...he said its one of the best purchases he has ever made....and he has made a lot of them...he has about 20-25 bikes. Y'all have a good trip...I am doing dirt this weekend....just got over the soreness from dirt last weekend.

Bill I hate I missed you when you were here in the nc mts. Is your son renting your old bike to you? I am jonesin really bad for a trip myself. Ride safe!

Been riding the GS and the 690... but they just don't do for me what the S does. My son had purchased my S from the guy I sold it to, and told me at the time I could buy it back if I ever wanted it... a couple months ago I asked about it, and he told me it wasn't for sale. :(

While I was at TOR in Colorado riding the GS my back went out at the campsite. stupid degenerative disk disease...AKA being old. While laying on the grass writhing in pain, Jerry and Keith decide it would be good for Keith (Jarhead Rider) to ride back to New Mexico with us in case they need to go get the truck/trailer and haul me home. My back was better the next morning, but the evening at our cabin in New Mexico, Keith tells me he is going to sell his S. A quick look at it reveals it has all the same aftermarket goodies that mine had... Staintunes, Induct, Motoyoyo clamps... I immediately snapped a bunch of cell pics and sent them to my son. He agreed that if I bought Keiths bike, he would trade me my bike back for Keith's R1100S. :) So a few weeks ago, my son Bill 2.0 and I made a quick trip to Texas and back to pick up the bike.

First order of business is to remove the Rapid Dog Apehangers... Even if they are nicely anodized by the guy that made the Motoyoyo clamps to perfectly match... :)

We didn't need to do much to the bike for my son... As Keith took really good care of it. It looks much nicer than mine... But isn't as fast as mine... :)


Anyhow I now have my 2002 Prep back... selling it was not a good idea... I have mine back now, and my son also has a really nice black one with all the performance goodies.. even has the San Jose air filter... which I would have nabbed had I known it was there.. :)

His classes start back in a week or two, so we are taking some time for a father son ride this weekend. Headed for some time in the curves of North Arkansas, and Missouri.

Not taking my computer, but will try to post some cell pics throughout the weekend... and then post the rest of the ride report Sunday evening.
