Introduction and request for help

I am not so new to the board, but this is my first post. I've been reading everything I can on the R1200S. I just bought a 2007 with 35,000km, akro slip on, and full set of bags. The bike was painted by the dealership when new into a 'Martin' special edition. Martin being the name of the dealership in Germany that sold the bike. This bike will supplement my R1200GS for some sportier rides!

I am the fourth owner of the bike and I have all the records to include the sales brochure and original price list. The first two owners compiled the majority of the miles (or KMs as the case may be) and the previous owner had it for only a couple of months before deciding that 3 bikes were too much and the R1200S was third in line behind his R9T and Multistrada.

I am looking for help with the Rapid Bike 3 that came in the tank bag along with some extra spark plugs and the baffles for the slip-on. The previous owner never plugged it in, but did show me the port under the seat. No other information, software, or cables were included.

From my understanding, the RB3 can be set to map ignition and fuel injection and it is capable of having two different maps. How does one switch between the two? Does the mapping need to be updated if it was originally mapped 8 years ago? What else should I know about using the RB3?

Thanks for the help on this topic and all the knowledge I've gained from reading through the archives.
