How to remove reset Button on instrument Cluster on the R1100S
Anyone remove the mileage reset button
|
I am taking about the reset trip-meter
Button |
EZ,
That button actually is screwed onto its' brass shaft. If you apply a bit of lube beneath the knob, it will turn and not bind against the rubber protective boot beneath it. You could use a drop of WD40 or even alcohol as it will evaporate and not contaminate or collect dirt. Same for screwing it back on the shaft and inside that rubber boot. Pete |
EZ...how convenient!!!
I took this during a recent teardown. You can see the threads on the end of the reset shaft. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y86...psb5tx4z3t.jpg |

Any advise on the Speedometer 😳 |
How can I help? What specifically might you be wondering?
Check out my "Has Anyone Removed their Tach Needle?" thread for a few more details and comments regarding a Rockster speedo working in an "S". The two speedos sure do seem identical to me - from the back and the front. With, of course, the exception of the gage face. |
