Rider's manual for 07/2000 build date
So I need a rider's manual for my bike. According to MAX's website I need part number 01 47 7 661 345 which is no longer available. A quick Google search found several dealers listings, but says NA. Anyone know where I can get one? Anyone have a spare copy, or a working non-malware link to download a copy?
I was able to buy the technical manual, and have the CD for the service manual already. Thanks, Chuck |

Riders manuals are harder to get a copy of than the service manual PDF.
Try a place like Beemer Boneyard.

Thanks! The link to A&S said they had it, the other places I checked said it was no longer available. I ordered one will let you now if it really exists.

False alarm, A&S sent an email that this book is not available. There are 4 or so different rider's manuals based on build dates. Apparently my build date 7/2000 falls into the NA range.
Anyone have any other sources?

aren't MY01 (USA) bikes spec'd the same as all earlier ones? i think the ABS changed around MY02 (USA - MY01 for europe) and the only other unique early part is the ECU in mid-'98 builds. so this one, which you might already have found, should (?) be 100% applicable.
edit: the site looks a little sketchy but there does seem to be a real business in Tucson by that name, and i was getting Tucson-targeted ads while browsing Beemer Bits

According to the MAX fiche, there are three different manuals for a 2001 model year, US version. One up to 06/00, one from 06/00 to 01/01 and the last from 01/01 on. The first and third are available to buy, the middle one (mine 07/00) is NA. There are three different part number. Not sure what changed in the model year three times, and maybe I'm overthinking it. The technical manual is available, but the rider's manual is not.
Just hoping some one in the brain trust might know what changed, or have the one I need. It may just be legal warnings changed or something, and any of them cover the bike.

maybe they just found a typo! i can see why there would be 3 versions ("brembo"/1-spark to 1/01, evo/1-spark 1/01-12/02, evo/2-spark from 12/02) but your case, idunno. there's only one "owner's handbook - technical data" through 1/01.
my own vote would be "waaay overthinking." i had one for my old '04 and threw it out. i might keep the manual for this kind of bmw: ![]() everything in the r11s rider's manual is easier to find on here and you get a full spectrum of real-world-tested settings and solutions from which to choose.

So, I ordered the Service and Technical manual from MAX, and they also included the Rider's manual (US) 01 47 651 494 which the fiche says is for the 2001 model built to 06/2000. Still not sure what changed in the model run, someone sent me an email with a link to model changes and it doesn't list any changes. I'm guessing it's a warning label somewhere or something minor.
For those without the rider's manual explains controls indicators and pre-ride checks. The Service and Technical manual explains how to remove wheels, bodywork, battery and such, and has the places where you record oil changes and maintenance.

I think you're reading too much into this at this point. If you get your hands on one at all, it will be fine.
My R1100S, which I bought in January 2000 (Build date 11/99) came with the Rider's Manual 01 47 7 651 494 ... 12.98 Third edition.
