First Motorcycle?

This was my first motorcycle. A 1964 Yamaha Riverside 55 bought new at Jones Bicycle Shop in Canon City, Colorado. Jones also sold Vespa and Benelli along with bicycles of course. ( Schwinn ) A shop that for various reasons couldn't exist today. I was thirteen. The motorcycle featured here is not my exact machine; I borrowed this image from the internet. What was your first ride?

1971 Honda CT 70, then 1076 CB 125 S was the first street bike, got it at 13, and my Oklahoma MC license at 14.

Started out on a Buell?

My first street bike was a Honda 500-4 like this one:



After it was stolen I bought Honda VT500 ascot

Honda Cub stepthrough (after the minibike) bought from Bud Ekins circa 1962-ish.
But mine was an odd brown color with tan splash guards...

Yup - 1200cc - Loved that bike. Smallest displacement bike so far was the 1125CR, but ironically it also had the most power.

they made 1200cc buells????

had mine 3 months, then got tired of "running out of fuel" with 2/3 of a tank and having the carb boot shake itself loose every other week

1203 actually And I had zero problems with mine over the course of 4 years, other than a seeping fork seal. No intake problems, no issues with bolts shaking loose, no grounding problems, no wire chaffing. I think it was a unicorn!

Street or anything that had a gearbox? First real bike with a gearbox that I owned was a Suzuki TS125. I stripped it down for the dirt and got a go fast kit for it.

Your first motorcycle is your first motorcycle regardless of type. Your first moto sounds interesting.

First motorcycle, dirt bike, kinda sorta, '72 TS125J duster Suzuki. Spent all of my after school job money on it, powerup kit, 21" front wheel, learned to port, shave head, jet carbs...remember carb jets and reading spark plugs?



First street bike, '73 Yamaha RD350, by the time I got done with it or as most would say, #$%@ing it up, unrecognizable...


First out-of-the-box race bike, '78 TZ250 Yamaha, still spending all of my money on wheels, fairings, pipes, maintenance, blendzall green and gold...

Nice. I owned a '73 RD350 in the same color bought new when I was stationed at Cherry Point N.C. back in the Viet Nam era. A fun ride. I gave it to my brother who didn't take good care of it and let it get stolen.
