First Fluids Change - 2000 Z3 2.3 Automatic

Recently acquired 2000 Z3 Automatic 2.3 85k Miles

I want to do all fluids service starting with EO/Diff/Tran/Coolant

I like to wrench my cars but Z3 is a new experience. After reading up on oil change I have conflicting info. other than the car takes 6.7-7qts., and I plan on 5k miles oil changes. Since I am in Texas, I have read that 5W30 or 0W40 are AOK? I am not crazy into paying a premium for oil if these will do the same job just as well.

ENGINE OIL
-what brand of oil? Castrol Edge 5W30 or Castrol Edge 0W40 or what do you guys use, with satisfaction? I have read to stay away Valvoline, and Mobil 1 is no longer recognized/acceptable or something.
-What Oil filter type-I have read WIX is great but which one?
-While at it I will change fuel filter BMW 13 32 1 740 985. Is this KAYSER ok or MEYLE?

I don't have much info on the following other than AMSOIL is great for transmissions, i.e. weight and quantity
-DIFFERENTIAL
-TRANSMISSION, and
Recomended alternate coolant and quantity to purchase
-COOLANT

Any info/pointers/tips I will greatly appreciate.
