2002 Boxster shut down while driving
Good Afternoon Everyone,
I was driving my 02 automatic 2.7 Boxster yesterday around about 50 mph and it shut down and left me stranded in the road. Tried to crank it up turns over and wont fire up...Help! No check engine lights or flashing coolant lights. Temp gauge was normal. Not sure if it is the fuel pump relay, fuel pump or crankshaft position sensor. Tested fuel pump relay at local shop. He said the relay made a clicking noise to test good. I ordered another fuel pump relay anyway. Also checked fuel pump fuse 30 and was not blown. What could this be Porsche Gods! Please assist. Thank you. ell Last edited by Eloggins; 10-31-2019 at 01:55 PM.. |

Hello and welcome to the forum Ell - did the shop happen to pull any fault codes? This may be a good place to start to see if you can isolate the issue through one.

Run a fuel pressure test, the car should show some fuel pressure even if the pump is not running, and around at least 50 PSIG if the pump is running.

My 05 would crank and not start until I replaced the battery in the fob and cleaned all the contacts. I sometimes have to squeeze the key. Immobilizer? I think the keys are pretty flimsy.
