The manual switch on a '99 is on the fuse box in the foot well. I wired into the contacts and put another switch on the dash so I could raise the sign on the back of it whilst driving to tell the abo tailgating to back off.
Posting pictures does not seem to be working.

my 1998 doesn't have the man. spoiler switch, iknow it puts a ground on gn/rd to retract, gn bk to extend but schematic only shows wires going to instrument cluster, hopeing there was an easier method to acess them

Before you get into the wiring, have you confirmed that you have 2 working spoiler relays in the rear trunk panel? One moves the spoiler up, and the other down. They are inexpensive and easy to replace, and being relays, far more likely to fail than any other electrical component in that system.

You could try swapping them with each other, but to me it's just easier to replace both with known good relays.
