Boxster Spoiler Issue

Hi

I've a year 2001 boxster 3.2 and having problems with the spoiler , It will not raise when you hit 75mph, but the error light does come on to say it didnt go up , the manual override button doesnt do anything either .

I've tested the relays , both work fine , i've tested the earths from the relay to the ground points and the earths from the relays to the block connector on the motor and all ok.

When hitting the override button, 12v gets to the block connector before the motor ok,

I can connect 12v and earth to the motor and it will raise correctly.

I can lower the spoiler from the button all ok

I've changed the override switch

Anyone any further ideas please

Maybe something is stripped? The motor works but what part do the teeth engage with to raise? I would suspect something there although I don't know what actually raises the spoiler.

So the override switch delivers 12V to the motor connector, but the motor doesn't run. if you manually put 12V to the motor side of the same connector the motor does run?

Sounds like a bad relay, probably grungy contacts. I'd try swapping in a relay from another socket and see if the problem goes away. Make sure, obviously, that it's a relay that's identical in form and function.
