Fuel pump

2003 Porsche boxster 3.2s

Car not starting intermittent fault.

Twice now when i have left car for about a week, doesn't start just turns over.

But both times it started after a while.

What i did notice on both times, was when i first tried to start it. the fuel pump did not make buzzing noise.

Connect a fuel pressure test gauge to the test port on the fuel rail. You should have pressure before you try it turn the car over, as wells as when it is turning over. If you do not, your fuel pump is suspect.

Should be about 3.8 bar engine off, 3.3 bar engine running.

We use an Actron fuel pressure test rig here, I have not idea what is available in the UK.

Here is how I tested my fuel pressure, and how to test the fuel pump as well.
