DME question

Is there any difference between the dme for a manual vs one for a tiptronic? p/n are the same. Reason for asking is cause I need a new immobilizer and my car has symptoms of being bad per common issues listed by ecu doctors. Finding ecu, key & immobilizer all over for 2.7 manual cars but none for a tiptronic. Prices are cheaper then having mine repaired it looks like.

Imagine it's just programming differences between the base & S as well. If so I will just pull the trigger and have it towed to the shop for programming.

Thanks

Yes. The DME for the Tip expects to see data from the Tip controller and will throw codes if it does not.
