2008 boxster 987 instrument cluster upgrade!!
2008 987.1 has anyone have had a successful install of a 996 or 997 cluster with the two extra gauges which i read about in Wayne’s book 101 projects that I find to be a really cool upgrade but from my understanding it has to be a cluster from a 996/997 mine is a tiptronic and would need similar and also from a convertible 911 then have a shop install all the dme crap cruise control ect ect ect for it too work mechanically I have the skills to install but the electrical part of it and knowing my luck which is on the better half of sorry bout your luck kid ! And having a shop successfully input everything to work correctly without tripping a CEL, let’s just say I can already see it now . Anyways just wondering how many of you enthusiasts have successfully pulled this one off which is quite impressive and what problems did you run through what theses clusters are going for on eBay is expensive and are used and to throw 600 to 1000 for this upgrade and for it to be wrong or not work would really suck I think I would be the only guy with the coolest looking inoperable dash on the west coast lol anyways all im saying is how hard is it to have this or should I let go of of this one ?
