computer reset 2014 cayman

I'm removing my steering wheel on my cayman. Prior to removal, I will be disconnecting the battery. When I replace the wheel and reconnect the battery do I need an OBDll scanner to reset the car? If so, which brand works? Should I just roll the dice and disconnect the airbag "live?" thanks, jimmy

Hello,
When removing and reinstalling the steering wheel of your Cayman, it's generally recommended to disconnect the battery to ensure safety and prevent any unintended activations. After reconnecting the battery and reinstalling the steering wheel, there may be a need to reset certain systems or clear fault codes.
some points to consider:
OBD-II Scanner: In some cases, resetting the car's systems may require the use of an OBD-II scanner or diagnostic tool. This can vary depending on the specific model and year of your Cayman. An OBD-II scanner allows you to communicate with the car's onboard computer and access various functions, including resetting certain systems. PayMyDoctor Login

Compatible Brands: There are several reputable OBD-II scanner brands available in the market, such as Autel, Launch, Foxwell, or Bosch. It's important to choose a scanner that is compatible with your Porsche Cayman's specific make and model, as well as the features and functions you require.
