987 9x7 Window drop raise and battery drain
Hello all, 987 Cayman S 2006;
On the passenger door, the window drops ~10mm when opening the door but does not raise when closing the door, and there are battery drain issues too. I have replaced the door latch (lock actuator) and a broken door latch cable (sheath was broken) and this has not cleared the problem. According to the 9x7 guide on rennlist it should have been the door latch (lock actuator) I already replaced. Have a new window switch and door handle switch on order just in case. Will let you know how it works out. Appreciate any clues anyone else may have experienced. It should have been the door lock actuator. Did you use a Porsche branded part?

I may agree with this. I've heard of issues with aftermarket brands of door lock actuators. You're better off buying used if you need to save money.

Hello All,
Stumped. Replaced the door lock actuator and it did not solve the problem. Any other ideas? Pelican was happy to replace the door actuator with another one, however they said the return rate on that part was very low. |

After buttoning everything for the 4th or 5th time, i started thinking about what I had not replaced. There is a electronic module in the door on the window motor that was not replaced. Then I thought about trying to check it with a obd2 scan tool. Sure enough the passenger door had multiple faults. So after clearing the fault codes the problem went away. Moral of this story is before tearing the door apart run a OBD2 scan test.
