Oops? what did I do?

Good Evening everyone!

Long time Porsche drooler, first time buyer.

I bought a 2008 Cayman 987.1 with about 108k miles on it from a non-Porsche dealership (but still German..lol) with a couple of things wrong with it. Needed sun visors. Need armrest. Not real show stoppers. Wife and daughter drive it home and wife says the tilt doesn't work. I fix it...finally.

During the time I was fixing that, the battery decides to die on me. Completely.

So i've tried almost everything that i have seen on the forums and YouTube for trying to start the car.

I've got no power whatsoever.

The key keeps getting stuck in the ignition. I did get it removed.

The Fob Frunk button won't open it with it being hooked up to a battery jump pack (brand new NOCO).

I've not removed the 18" tire as the special nut remover is in the Frunk.

Another thing. My windows are down a little bit for some reason. Not sure this matters...

Can someone explain what is going on and suggestions to fix it? Is this an anti-theft thing?

Can i take out the Fob battery without having to go to a mechanic (dealership/indie shop) to get it programmed? Thinking maybe the battery in it might be low-however if the car battery is not powering anything I don't think a signal will get through to it to release the hood.

Thanks!

Do you have a battery or a jumper box instead of the noco? sometimes battery chargers wont kick in if it doesn't see a battery.

also some noco's have a manual override function you can try.

Generally speaking, a jump box won’t work to power up the frunk release. Use a real battery and jumper cables, also making sure that the negative terminal is connected to a good ground point on the frame.

I'm getting ready to try some of these suggestions but have another question (maybe few more)...

After I re-install the battery, will there be lights on the dash that need to be re-coded with I start it up?

Thanks for the help!!!!
