Shifters
I'm getting paint chipping from my stock shifter and I'm looking for suggestions on a new one. Any help. I noticed Pelican has a nice looking carbon momo. Would that be a good replacement? Any suggestions on painting a centerconsole. Is it worth it?
thanks |

It is wirth painting if you can get it done right, I've seen a couple of nice ones, and a bunch of nasty ones. The console isn't difficult to remove nor is it exceptionally expensive to replace (couple of hundred)
The paint on the shifters tends to chip if one of the drivers is wearing rings. The shifter is easy to replace (it just pops off). Unfortunately, the Porsche shifters are rather expensive. If memory serves, the shifter costs about as much as the center console. As to what shifter to install, it is a matter of personal taste. Avoid painted ones (like factory stock) if you don't want the problem to repeat. AFJuvat

Thanks for the advice
I'm getting my centerconsole painted and I'm going to try to touchup the shifter before I replace it. |
