New to problem (HELP AGAIN)!!!

After 9 weeks at 4 different shops i think we are closer to fixing my top problem, but here is where we are now.

When we attempt to open the top, it opens about 5 inches and closes back on its own, it will repeat this same cycle over and over. There is no binding or crunching, and everything appears to be lined up well.

SO WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK??????????????????????

UPDATE!!!!!!
I made an error in my last post. After talking to my mechanic(friend) he says that when you press the switch to bring the top up everything works like normal, the clamshell opens fine, the top comes all the way up except for the last 5 inches, then it stops and goes down for a few inches and then back up, stops and does it again and continues this cycle.

WHAT THE HECK IS GOIN ON???? NOBODY AROUND HERE KNOWS!!

Your top is out of alignment and is hitting a limiter switch on one of the transmissions.
