reset of check engine light
OK, I have experienced a few of the "check engine" light problems. O2 sensor replacement, seat belt recepticle replacement, etc.
Last week, I had to get gas at a place where they had to pump it and SURE THING, the dummy did not put the gas cap back on. I drove it for a day without a gas cap before I could get to a dealer to replace it. Now the bloody "check engine" light is on and it is too much of a coincidence with the gas cap which I know can cause it. How do I get rid of the bloody light without going to the dealer. On the Mercedes (more gas cap crap with check engine), you just disconnect the battery for a while and it resets. Is it that way with the Boxster? I would hate to hastle with the radio, windows, etc. if it does not work. fadler1 San Diego |
Just keep on driving and if the fault is not dected again the light will go off, if you do not want to do the battery thing.

Many thanks
I did the battery thing anyway and guess what..............it went out and stayed out. A lot cheaper than 1 hour minimum at the dealer.......................................
Thanks for your comment. Fred Adler San Diegohttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1129738144.jpg |

Yeah it is. 70's style. ;)

I have a "Boxster" and a "RETRO BOXSTER".........you are right. When I got the Boxster, I could not resist buying a rat eaten 914 that had been in a storage locker for over 20 years and restored it. It is certainly more of a challenge to keep running than the NEWer Boxster.
