Tires bald again??

I have a 99 boxster with a 2002 boxster S engine, reprogrammed ecu, etc.. I'm on my third set of tires in 5 months.. I've never had to replace my front tires, but my rear tires go bald every two months.. I don't race at all, i drive about 500 miles a month.. Anyways, is this normal? I'm using 265 30 19... I usually buy inexpensive tires with a high UTG (hardness) rating- typically above 280.. Does anybody have any idea which tires i should try that are inexpensive and will last a while? thanks

Make sure your alignment is set corectly. You could have too much negative camber. Also, you are using 19 inch wheels - never really authorized on a boxster. I've noticed a tendancy for boxster rear wheels to toe out slightly when they are oversized, partucularly under acceleration.

Try yokohama AVS100.

Sounds like an allignment as AFJuvant said. When I first got my car I noticed the rears were wearing and the there was alot of negative camber. Is negative camber in the rear a normal thing for p-cars?

When the rear sags (due to age) or was lowered too much there is too much negative camber. Wheel alignment from new was rarely correct for US type roads; hence the front and rear tire wear. Reducing rear ngeative camber is a problem.

that's the odd thing- the camber on my car seems to be fine, i had my mechanic adjust the camber perfectly so that there was no uneven wear on the tires.. the rear tires go bald perfectly even (there isnt one side more worn down than the other)... it's just sad that tires with a 300 utg rating go in three months...

You sure you don't roast the tires at every stoplight? You go through tires like they are going out of style.
