Question Dash Light for Clock

The light for the clock is not working. I checked all fuses and they appear to be OK. I'm guessing there is a bulb that needs changing behind the gauge. Can I safely pull the cover off and get behind to replace it myself, or do I need to go to Porsche to have this done? I really don't want to spend $200 to have a 50 cent bulb replaced. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

My clock is digital (2001). I think it is an LED or LCD, which doesn't get fixed with a bulb. Is your clock different?
