ac not working

Hello folks,

I have 98 Boxster, AC worked fine before vacation, I come back and now it is not working.

So I check the vent temp and it is above 80 degrees F. Both fuses (on Row D and E) seem to be intact . And I can hear the Compressor cycling with button on control unit in dash.

What are my next steps?

Check pressure? What should my pressures be for high and low?

Also what is the procedure for checking, it has been some time since I jacked with AC systems (5+ years)?

IF the pressure is low, that means I have a leak, correct? Put die in to check for leaks?

Do a bit of reading on the background of the product, I have installed it in several vehicles now and its simply amazing!!

BTW its a DIY drop in and no I don't work for them or have any relationship just a happy customer.

All the boxters use R-134A freon so you can go to your local Wal-mart and pick up a few cans for 8-10 dollars. At Idle the low sides should be around 38-50psi and the hight side 175-225psi. If you go to you local autoparts store they will sell a gauge set up along with manuals about A/C systems. The test ports are located and the pass side of the battery under the plastic cover. Die will help you find the leak,as will a leak detector they can be bought for $100 and up, Check E-bay. Good luck P.M. me if you need any more help

That did the trick. The low pressure measured 23 and now it measures 36. The car is now cooling to 37 degrees F at the vent when it is 85 degrees F outside.

No problem, I won't even send you a bill? lol lol. On a side note I charged the A/C in my Boxter this morning
