I have a 2000 Boxster S that suffers from a ruff, unsteady idle. My mechanic believes it to be the Idle Control Valve or a vacuum leak. I have the complete set of factory books on this car and can't find any mention of a "Idle Control Valve" Is it referred to as something else in the shop manuals? I'd like to replace it myself if i just knew where it was at. Please , if anyone knows.....

It is called the IACV in the workshop manuals. It is located on the drivers side of the throttle body.

Thanks, I found that, but it appears that there is not one on the Boxster S, Is this true? I have already cleaned the throttle body and made little difference, if at all. I believe all the vacuum lines are good because i had them replaced 2 months ago...

If you have egas you don't have an Idle air valve only the cable TB cars do.
