Cayman S TPMS dash light on

I'm in the process of buying a 07 Cayman S with 20" wheels, but the TPMS light is always on. The owner tells me that it is due to the 20" wheels because the sensor does not read a signal therefor the light is on all the time.

The P dealer tells me that they will not disable the light because of reliability issue.

Questions:
Can the light be disable w/o affecting any other system?

Is there any other systems affected by that light being on all the time?

Is there a way to disconnect it?

Is there any way to make it work with the 20" wheels?

That is not correct. The TPMS does work on 20" wheels. You first have to make sure that the TPMS sensors are in fact installed on the 20" wheels, and if they are that they are the correct ones.

(You can tell if you have TPMS by the valve stems, if they are silver with silver plastic valve caps Then you have TPMS. They also have a thin nut that you can see from the outside as opposed to the the non TPMS style which are black with no retaining nut.)

Assuming they are installed and are the correct versions, there is a setup procedure in the owners manual that you will have to follow to get them to work.

I recommend doing a search for TPMS on http://www.caymanclub.net

Thanks for the feedback.

That's awesome and it makes sense... I wonder why the dealer didn't mention anything about it...

Is this (Beru) the same system/supplier/compatible with the cayman system?
