Really cold natured
All of a sudden, my 98 Boxster is very cold natured when I first start it. The plugs have just been changed. It has a high pitched sound from the engine and after about 2 minutes, you can hear it go away. Like it winds down. After that it seems to run fine, not as powerful as new. Has a small backfire everynow and then. Also, Is there only 1 mass air flow sensor. I have taken the one out and cleaned it with CRC cleaner. Runs better for awhile. I may need one. It the one that Maxspeed sells for 139.00 any good. thanks.....

How many miles on the car? Where are you located (ie, how cold is it where you are?) Could be a belt slipping when cold.. could be signs of soon to be water pump failure.. Is the sound "metallic" in nature?
