price my car !!!
I was thinking to sell my 02 boxster s ,,,, first because we don't really use it that much and to be park it develop doors lights to don't operate fine and soon needs clutch and probably ims replace so maybe is better sell it cheap!,,,,
so has 82k miles super nice paint interior like new , no noise not nothing runs like champ cruise control a/c all works perfectly top been upgraded to new glass window put all 4 brand new tires pirelli 18 twist wheels not leaks not problems mechanical how about 13k and maybe put money in bank save 20k next year buy 04 with litronicks and less miles! |

If the clutch is original and has 82K, it's about it's time... so I would say that takes about $1500 off the price of the car.
The glass window top adds a bit to the value IMO if the job is OEM quality. If the body is clean and doesn't have any dings, 13K is probably a really good price.

Yeah, I'll 2nd that. But, what people tell me is to do the clutch and add the 1500 to the price. Most buyers want the best they can get for their money and a receipt from a reputable mechanic for any new work only adds to the reason to buy this one rather than that one. A complete service with new fluids will go a long way salesmanship wise.

The clutch life is incredibly dependent on the driving situation. There are cars with 80K miles and clutches like new... then there are cars with 35K that are slipping.
I'd say that if the clutch still grabs OK and doesn't slip under any conditions, forgo the clutch job. If it is slipping, even a bit, replace it. The expense will be offset in the increased value of the car when you go to sell it for sure.
