Pic of My Boxster

Here is a pic of my '99 Boxster to see if I can embed a picture into a post. I just got it last Nov. with 84K miles. Paid $10K. Dealer PPI checked out fine.
The previous owner added:
  • Porsche stripe
  • Painted brake calipers
  • Tinted side windows (they aren't nearly as dark as the photo implies!)
Since then I've been adding a few nice upgrades:
  • New Michelin PS2's (225/45/17F and 255/40/17R)
  • New Cross-Drill Rotors/EBC Redstuff Pads
  • Rear Speaker Kit
  • AUX Audio Input
  • Daytime running lights using fogs
I have done the following maintenance using Pelican Parts website and 101 Projects for Your Boxster;
  • Oil and filter
  • Air and pollen filters
  • Fuel filter
  • Spark plugs and tubes
  • Replaced top microswitch
  • Adjusted parking brake
I have a DE scheduled for March 5th at Streets of Willow and can't wait to drive it there.

I love this car and its been nothing but fun! Thanks to everyone at PP!

Good looking car! Welcome to the Boxster community. You might want to check out the Porsche Owners Club (POC). There were many Boxsters at the last PDS (Performance Driving Series) event and there's another PDS event at The Streets of Willow 2/26-2/27. Excellent instruction is included in the price of registration. It's a great club.

@Andrew - thanks and I'll check out the POC. I looked into PCA DE's and my first impression is that I'd have to add a 5-pt seat harness, fire extinguisher, roll bar extensions, etc. Hopefully the POC req's are less extensive because I don't want to race, just have the opportunity to drive faster and push it a little harder than is safe/sensible on the street.

@Racer - Yes, there were two receipts that I found crumpled down in the door storage compartment - one for the serpentine belt/pulley replacement and one to replace the horn frame because the horn wasn't working. Thanks for asking me to check on that.

I just bought a 99 on Christmas eve. 104k miles on it. And am also slowly going through the maintenance check list.
Had brake system flushed
Replaced air filter (engine one)
Oil change on Monday is scheduled.
Then the next things are. Serpentine belt, coolant flush.
I have few little nit picky interior parts that are broke that I am also replacing a little at a time.
Mine is the same color as yours as well. Love the stripe. Any idea where on can be purchased.
Enjoy the driving experience
Randy

We don't sell them because we can't sell anything that says "PORSCHE" that doesn't come directly from Porsche. But I think some guy was making them and listed them here in this forum at one time...

Sorry but since it came with the car, I'm not sure where the previous owner bought the PORSCHE stripe.

I really like the stripe retro look and it provides a little more visual interest to a large expanse of solid color on the side of the car. A lot of people wonder why Porsche doesn't offer the stripe as a dealer option.

The POC does not require the equipment for their PDS series. It is a series of entry level driver education and competition events. You will have an instructor in your passenger seat until you've completed the requirements for your PDS license. It's a more controlled, legal and more safe way to learn how to drive your car at its limits. You will never be asked to drive beyond your abilities. PM me if you're interested in more info.
