I needed a few extra, so I ordered some. I do have one in front of me, and I measured it with a ruler. Seems to measure M19x3, which would be an odd size. Definitely 3mm per thread. It's probably M20-3.

Thanks Wayne! I tried a 20X2.5 and it was a bit too large. I read somewhere that this was a Porsche specific size. I will do some research and see if I can come up with a 19x3mm bolt...

I am working on a hitch mount for a bicycle rack. I contacted Will Wood about purchasing a rack system from him, but he recently had back surgery performed and will not be able to fill any orders at the moment. So I thought I would have a go at a temporary design myself. I was hoping to use the tow hook eye threads to support the rear of the hitch but the threads are Porsche specific and I cannot fine a off the shelf bolt that will fit. I believe the threads are 19x3 MM but cannot confirm at the moment, the tow hook eye is missing from my tool kit.

We sell the tow hooks on the site, they are $14 each, Genuine Porsche! I just bought 3 spares the other day. Part Number: 996-721-151-00-M100, see them here: Porsche Boxster Chassis Panels & Sheet Metal - Page 3

I believe its called Knuckle thread. see
Knuckle Thread DIN 405

My 83 S has the 14.318 OD, 8threads/inch, or 3.175mm pitch. The ODs are actually imperial - 14.318mm = 9/16".
Currently exchanging emails with 928 motorsports on this topic.
